Medical Malpractice Underwriting Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Underwriter to join our Medical Malpractice team at AXIS Capital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for underwriting a wide range of medical professionals' business, with a focus on delegated authority channels in the UK and Europe.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of medical malpractice risks and trends, and apply this knowledge to underwrite new and renewal accounts.
- Exercise independent judgment in the management of underwriting activities, including market analysis, risk evaluation, and coverage recommendations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and coverholders, and develop a distribution strategy to grow our business in the medical malpractice sector.
- Collaborate with other teams within AXIS Capital to identify opportunities for cross-class business and develop new products and services.
- Stay up-to-date with economic and legal factors impacting the medical malpractice industry, and apply this knowledge to inform underwriting decisions.
- Participate in projects and initiatives to improve underwriting processes and systems, and contribute to the development of new underwriting tools and resources.
- Significant experience underwriting medical malpractice risks, with a strong understanding of the UK and European markets.
- Excellent technical skills in underwriting, with the ability to analyze complex risks and develop effective coverage solutions.
- Strong business development skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with brokers and coverholders.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
