Senior Underwriter – Medical Malpractice, Global Markets

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of AXIS Capital, a leading provider of specialty lines insurance and reinsurance. As a Medical Malpractice Underwriter, you will play a key role in building and maintaining relationships with brokers and coverholders, while also analyzing and underwriting individual risks.
About the Role:
The Medical Malpractice team at AXIS Capital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced underwriter to join our team. As a Medical Malpractice Underwriter, you will be responsible for exercising independent judgment in the management of underwriting activities, including market analysis, risk evaluation, and policy issuance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and coverholders to identify new business opportunities and grow existing accounts.
- Analyze and underwrite individual risks, developing appropriate limit structures, retentions, pricing, and endorsements.
- Manage and develop a personal book of business, including new lines, renewals, and cross-marketing of products within Global Markets.
- Meet all divisional servicing objectives, including quote turnaround, policy issuance, file maintenance, and documentation.
- Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of economic and legal factors impacting the lines of business being underwritten.
About You:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced underwriter with a strong background in Medical Malpractice and professional lines or liability underwriting. You should have excellent technical skills, strong market knowledge, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with brokers and coverholders.
