We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Malpractice Underwriter to join our team at AXIS Capital. Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of medical malpractice underwriting principles and practices.
- Underwrite new and renewal accounts, exercising independent judgment and expertise to ensure accurate and timely decisions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and coverholders, identifying opportunities for growth and development.
- Contribute to the development of underwriting guidelines and policies, ensuring they are aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other teams to identify and capitalize on cross-class opportunities, driving business growth and profitability.
- Stay up-to-date with market trends, economic factors, and legal developments impacting the medical malpractice industry.
- Significant experience underwriting medical malpractice, with a background in professional lines or liability a plus.
- Excellent technical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with brokers, coverholders, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of motivation and self-initiative.
- CII qualifications or working towards a plus.
