High Voltage Technologist

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Pulsed Power Scientist, working on the design and development of pulsed power x-ray sources for flash radiography. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering Pulsed Power Programmes to agreed time, cost and quality metrics, using your skills and expertise to enhance electron beam flash radiographic sources and other pulsed power machine technologies.
About the Role
* Deliver Pulsed Power Programmes to agreed time, cost and quality metrics
* Contribute to the further development of intense electron beam diode technologies
* Provide technical input within own field of expertise that can influence project or team activity
Responsibilities
* Theoretical, modelling and analysis of experimental technical programmes
* Designing and conducting experiments to validate these models
* Conducting performance analysis of existing Pulsed Power systems
* Contributing to the further development of intense electron beam diode technologies
* Providing expertise in the design of pulsed high voltage equipment
Requirements
* A degree in Physics or STEM discipline, equivalent NQF level 6 qualification or equivalent experience
* Knowledge or working experience of pulsed power systems, electron beam transport or radiofrequency accelerating cavities
* Knowledge or working experience of electromagnetic modelling codes e.g. Circuit Simulation, Particle in Cell or Radiation Transport
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
