Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Dangerous Goods Compliance Specialist to join our team at Kuehne+Nagel. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with legislation, policy, and contractual requirements affecting the storage and transport of hazardous substances, articles, and radiological protection.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the main site in Telford, with flexibility to travel to other key sites as required.
  • Provide specialist advice to management and operations on compliance with legislation, policy, and contractual requirements.
  • Complete internal audit processes to ensure compliance with Dangerous Goods Requirements and KN Global process.
  • Provide ongoing support to operational teams to improve standards of Dangerous Goods and Radiation regulations and achieve defined levels of compliance.
  • Support the wider QSHE Team in ensuring adherence to Legislation, Policy, and Contractual requirements through audit and QSHE tour processes.
  • Support QSHE communications by being actively involved in the development and delivery of QSHE specific communications.
  • Report performance against targets to the QSHE Management Team.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Essential:
    • Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Air (IATA)
    • Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR)
    • Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Sea (IMDG)
    • IOSH Managing Safety
  • Audit Experience (ISO Standards 9001; 14001 & 45001 preferable). Willingness to qualify as Lead Auditor.
  • Desirable/ Willing to Train:
    • ADR 1.8.3 DGSA Certificate
    • RID 1.8.3 DGSA Certificate
    • Dangerous Goods Storage and Segregation
    • Carriage of Lithium Batteries by Air, Road & Sea
    • Radiation Safety Officer
    • Class 7 Radioactive Excepted Packages Consignor Awareness
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of word and Excel, Numerate / data rational
  • Analytical / Report writing / Forward planning skills
