Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Biomedical Support Worker to join our team. As a Biomedical Support Worker, you will play a vital role in the smooth operation of our laboratory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work throughout all sections of the department on a rotational basis, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of laboratory operations.
  • Work a mixture of early, day, and late shifts, as well as weekend and bank holidays, to meet the needs of the laboratory.
  • Be responsible for the reception and processing of clinical specimens, including swabs, body fluids, and blood samples, ensuring accurate and timely handling.
  • Assist with the setup of routine automated and manual laboratory tests, ensuring compliance with quality control procedures.
  • Contribute to the quality management of the laboratory, participating in quality control procedures and audits as required.
Requirements
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment.
