About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Custody Detention Officer to join our team at Surrey Police. As a Custody Detention Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and comfort of individuals in our custody suite.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional care and support to detainees, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with custody medical teams to address physical and mental health needs.
  • Supervise exercise, facilitate legal visits, and provide food to detainees.
  • Contribute to a well-drilled team, ensuring the smooth running of the custody suite.
Requirements
  • GCSE C and above in Maths/Level 2 equivalent
  • GCSE C and above in English/Level 2 equivalent

Due to the sensitivity of the role, a high level of integrity is required. Successful applicants will be subject to security vetting. A current and valid driving licence and access to a personal vehicle are also essential.

All successful applicants will need to undertake a written health assessment, and where appropriate, participate in a health interview and/or medical assessment as deemed necessary by the Occupational Health Department.
