Job Title: Legal Compliance Manager

Department: Conveyancing

Salary: £57,000 - £74,000

Location: Gloucestershire, hybrid flexible working - On site parking

Hours: Full time, 9-5, 1 hour for lunch

Overview:

This award-winning law firm, Simpson Judge Ltd, is seeking a highly experienced Residential Property Solicitor to take on a newly created position as Technical Lead within the Conveyancing department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Residential Property law and a proven track record of managing complex caseloads.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Group Compliance Director to ensure that advice provided is compliant with all regulations.
  • Oversee a team of solicitors, including 3 direct reports, and provide technical training and guidance as needed.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the team is complying with law, regulation, protocols, and best practice.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to improve the development of the case management system.
  • Ensure that the team is adhering to the conveyancing process and that all files are being managed in accordance with best practice.

Requirements:

  • Must be a qualified Solicitor with at least 7 years of post-qualification experience in Residential Property law.
  • Experience managing a complex caseload of varied Residential Property files, including sales, purchases, remortgages, leasehold, lease extensions, SDLT requirements, building regulations, bridging transactions, and unregistered properties.
  • Equity release experience is highly beneficial.
  • Highly technical abilities and knowledge within Residential Conveyancing.
  • Business development experience is ideal, but not essential.
  • Managerial experience, including mentoring staff and supporting trainee solicitors, is highly desirable.
