Job Title: Legal Compliance Manager

Overview:

This award-winning law firm specializes in various areas of law, including IT, Equity Release, finance, and Property. With a team of approximately 60+ employees, they are seeking a highly experienced Property Solicitor to fill a newly created position. This role would be ideal for someone looking to transition from fee-earning in Residential Property to a technical lead position within the firm. Main Responsibilities:

  • You will work closely with the Group Compliance Director to ensure that advice provided is compliant with all regulations.
  • You will oversee a team of 3 direct reports and provide guidance to the wider team, including trainee solicitors who require mentoring and assistance.
  • You will be responsible for providing technical training and developing and implementing policies.
  • You will collaborate with the IT team to improve the development of the case management system.
  • You will ensure that the teams are complying with law, regulation, protocols, and best practice in the conveyancing process.

Requirements:

  • You must be a qualified Solicitor with at least 7 years of post-qualification experience in Residential Property.
  • You must have experience managing a complex caseload of varied Residential Property files, including sales, purchases, remortgages, leasehold, lease extensions, SDLT requirements, building regulations, bridging transactions, and unregistered properties.
  • Equity release experience is highly beneficial.
  • You must have highly technical abilities and knowledge within Residential Conveyancing.
  • Business development experience would be ideal, but not essential.
  • You must have managerial experience, including mentoring staff and supporting trainee solicitors throughout their qualifications.
  • You must be a people person, able to motivate and encourage staff members and trainees.
