About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shift Plant Operator to join our team at Veolia. As a Shift Plant Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our plant, working closely with the Shift Team Leader to monitor and control plant processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide shift coverage to ensure continuous ERF operation
  • Assist Shift Team Leader in monitoring and operating plant from Central Control Room
  • Coordinate control room operations for consistent power production and steam turbine operation
  • Take immediate corrective action during emergencies to limit risks
  • Monitor and control process parameters, raw materials usage, and environmental emissions
  • Safely shut down and restart plant sections according to procedures
  • Perform emergency operations during unit trips and abnormal conditions
  • Carry out lockout-tagout isolations and understand applied risk hazards
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental Permit and report non-compliance
  • Conduct routine plant inspections, adjustments, and data collection

Requirements
  • IT literate
  • An understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues would be an advantage
  • Interested in mechanical and electrical plant with some experience of plant operations, ideally with experience as an engineering role
  • Appropriate NVQ for the duties of the post
