About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Support Specialist to join our team at Colas Rail UK. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our maintenance activities and providing technical support to our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections of our traction and rolling stock to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Provide detailed reports to our management team on vehicle condition and trends, highlighting areas for improvement.
  • Assist in the investigation of defects and faults, working closely with our maintenance teams to identify and implement solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to our maintenance teams, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standards.
  • Collaborate with our Asset Management team to ensure that our maintenance activities are aligned with our business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with our suppliers and partners to ensure that we are receiving the best possible support and services.
  • Contribute to the development of our maintenance procedures and processes, ensuring that they are aligned with industry best practices.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of our quality management system, ensuring that it is effective and efficient.
Requirements
  • Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in railway maintenance and technical support.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and partners.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on safety and quality.
