About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dementia Consultant to join our team at HammondCare. As a Dementia Consultant, you will play a critical role in delivering Australian Government funded dementia behaviour support services across Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support families, caregivers, and clinical staff to understand the impact of dementia on individuals.
  • Equip carers and clinicians with the skills and knowledge to prevent and respond to behaviour changes through modelling, coaching, and development of resources.
  • Develop reports that are contextualised to individual situations and people, and provide recommendations that are relationship-centred and informed by evidence-based best practice.
  • Undertake a range of assessments to understand the holistic experience of the person and their care network.
  • Work in partnership with the broader HammondCare team to build capability across the home and aged care sectors.
  • Contribute to research, projects, and programs, and work innovatively to meet the changing needs of the sector.

What We Need from You

  • Expertise in supporting people living with dementia.
  • Relevant qualifications in Allied Health, Nursing, Aged Care, or Mental Health.
  • Experience in Australian residential aged care and/or community aged care.
  • High-level negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management.
  • A current Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel.
