Job Description:

Leonardo is seeking a highly experienced Project Engineering Lead to join our team in Luton. The successful candidate will have a strong background in leading multi-discipline engineering projects across the entire lifecycle, from conception to delivery.

The Project Engineering Lead will be responsible for managing a diverse range of stakeholders and ensuring that the project meets the required standards. This includes supporting the engineering management of Test Solutions capability upgrades, functional qualification of updates, and certification of enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of multi-disciplined Engineering teams
  • Establish and maintain good lines of communication across the Engineering IPT and upwards
  • Ensuring effective implementation of the company's Life-cycle design reviews
  • Management of the Engineering technical quality, schedule, and budget
  • Support the management of Suppliers and project Make or Buy decisions as required
  • Managing upward reporting and management of Customer expectations in line with agreed solution
  • Control project configuration and change management particularly regarding design baselines and production build standards
  • Identifying technical risks and mitigation strategies

Requirements:

  • Good understanding of a range of electronic technologies from dc to light or a good understanding of Systems/Software engineering lifecycle
  • Knowledge of engineering life cycle and business process

Nice to Have:

  • Good understanding of digital/analogue/RF systems with ESM and ECM
  • Experience of working in the defence electronics sector, ideally with airborne sensor systems
  • Chartered Engineer status, or a member of a professional engineering institution

Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 per annum
