About the Role

The Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is seeking a highly organized and flexible Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join our friendly and supportive team in the Urology Investigation Unit at Maidstone Hospital.

Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality patient care to urology consultant and nurse-led clinics, procedures such as cystoscopies, biopsies, urodynamics, and lithotripsy.
  • Work as part of a team, providing support and reassurance to patients and their families/carers.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and colleagues, verbally and in writing.
  • Prioritize workload with supervision and deliver patient care under the indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse.

Requirements

  • The Care Certificate.
  • NVQ/QCF Diploma level 3 in Healthcare or successful completion of a level 3 Healthcare Support Worker apprenticeship.
  • Functional skills English and maths level 2 or GCSE English and maths grades A*/9 – C/4.
  • Significant experience as a Healthcare Support Worker/Trainee in a care setting or acute hospital setting.
  • Knowledge of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers and Adult Social Care Workers.
  • Knowledge of the common conditions/illnesses/complex needs of patients within the appropriate clinical specialty.
