About the Role:

Crewkerne Community Hospital, part of Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to fill the position of Junior Ward Sister Clinical Lead. As a key member of the ward team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, leading by example, and supporting the development of staff members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To prioritize tasks efficiently and effectively, ensuring seamless delivery of care services.
  • To collaborate with the Senior Ward Sister and Matron in developing and implementing effective processes for patient assessment and planning.
  • To contribute to quality improvement initiatives and local audit programs as delegated by the Matron and Senior Ward Sister.
  • To provide relevant data to inform the review of patient care, ensuring timely interventions when necessary.
  • To maintain a safe and clean environment for staff, patients, and visitors by adhering to health and safety protocols, infection control measures, and risk management strategies.
  • To support the Matron and Senior Sister in continuous quality improvement efforts, evaluating standards of care, and implementing changes based on findings.
  • To ensure clinical currency through ongoing education and adherence to evidence-based practices and locally agreed protocols.
  • To escalate clinical incidents or concerns regarding patient care to the appropriate level, considering communication with immediate line managers and the nature of the incident.
  • To adhere to legal requirements and statutory rules related to nursing practice.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse qualification.
  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • Teaching and/or Assessor qualification desirable.
  • Diploma in Nursing studies.
  • Evidence of recent study to diploma level.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
