Deputy Director of Midwifery Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Director of Midwifery to join our team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our speciality management team, you will provide operational and clinical leadership to ensure the women, pregnant people, and staff are safe, cared for, and listened to.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide managerial, professional, and clinical leadership to midwives and support staff working within the maternity service.
  • Oversee the development, facilitation, and implementation of appropriate training and development programmes for midwives, nurses, and support staff.
  • Work with local Higher education Institutions in the development of appropriate educational curricula to meet the needs of Midwives, Nurses, student midwives, and student nurses.
  • Participate and present at Sub and Trust Board level.
About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to the development and delivery of maternity services locally and regionally. You will be working in partnership with the Divisional Management Team, Clinical Director, and Clinical Leads on both sites.

Person Specification
  • Registered Midwife (currently practicing)
  • Master's Degree
  • Management Leadership Qualification, which has been tested in a management post
