Job Opportunity:

Leonardo is seeking a skilled Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Software Quality Assurance Team in Edinburgh. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and release of software, ensuring it meets contracted and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide independent software assurance support to development and release of software.
  2. Create and maintain software quality assurance plans in accordance with contractual conditions and company standards.
  3. Estimate software quality assurance resources required to support projects.
  4. Assess subcontracted companies' ability to perform software development to required standards.
  5. Assess projects for compliance with software development plans and processes.
  6. Participate in software lifecycle reviews.
  7. Perform software conformity reviews and physical/functional configuration audits.
  8. Verify release of deliverable software.

Requirements:

Essential:

  1. Knowledge and practical experience of software quality.
  2. Further education and experience ideally in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or Defence Electronics.
  3. Logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  4. Good interpersonal skills and collaborative working style.

Desirable:

  1. Demonstrated knowledge of AS9100 / ISO9001 and Continuous Improvement.
  2. Experience working in high precision manufacturing environments.
  3. Knowledge of software standards RTCA/DO-178C, AS9115, and AQAP-2210.

Security Clearance: Eligibility for full security clearance is required.
