Job Overview:

Leonardo is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Assurance Specialist to join our Software Quality Assurance Team in Edinburgh. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide independent software assurance support to the development and release of software, verifying it meets contracted and company standards.
  2. Create and maintain software quality assurance plans in accordance with contractual conditions and company standards.
  3. Estimate software quality assurance resources required to support projects.
  4. Assess the ability of subcontracted companies to perform software development to required standards.
  5. Assess projects for compliance with software development plans and processes.
  6. Participate in software lifecycle reviews.
  7. Perform software conformity reviews and physical/functional configuration audits.
  8. Verify the release of deliverable software.

Requirements:

Essential Skills:

  1. Knowledge and practical experience of software quality.
  2. Further education and experience ideally in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or experience in Defence Electronics or similarly complex industry.
  3. Be a logical thinker, capable of harvesting complex data into actions with practical solutions that support business goals, in the language of the business.
  4. Have good interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style across all functions of the business.

Desirable Skills:

  1. Be able to demonstrate knowledge within the areas of AS9100 / ISO9001 and Continuous improvement.
  2. Have demonstrated experience working in high precision manufacturing environment.
  3. An Airborne software background, with good working knowledge of software standards RTCA/DO-178C, AS9115, and AQAP-2210.

Security Clearance: You must be eligible for full security clearance.
