About the Role

We are seeking a talented Civil Engineer to join our growing civils team at SuDS Designs, part of the Structural Engineering Alliance Group. This role offers the opportunity to develop your skills and progress your career working as part of a team of innovative engineers and specialists.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, Chartered Engineer status, and a minimum of 4 years of professional experience in civil engineering. You will have a proven track record of involvement in the design of highways and infrastructure projects, as well as cost estimation and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use the latest design software to create and manage designs.
  • Liaise with key clients and discuss design/technical solutions with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are appropriately resourced, delegating work to team members, programming deliverables, and monitoring progress.
  • Provide support and guidance to junior staff, fostering their development and progression.
  • Implement company policies and ensure adherence across your team.
  • Monitor and oversee project budgets and staff resources for projects undertaken.
  • Develop existing customer relationships and promote JMS services.
  • Assist in achieving targeted revenues from current and new customers.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) would be advantageous.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in civil engineering.
  • Demonstrable record of involvement in the design of highways and infrastructure projects.
  • Proven track record of cost estimation and project management.
  • Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environment.
  • Use of industry design standards i.e. DMRB; Manual for Streets; NJUG SS Getc.
  • Problem solver able to offer solutions to challenges.
  • Able to work and collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Confident, articulate, collaborative, and proactive.
  • Eagerness to learn and to develop your skills and career with training support.
  • Good time management and organisational skills to efficiently manage workload.
  • A good knowledge of the CDM regulations in addition to British standards and EU regulations.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel across the UK to visit sites and other JMS offices.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK and be able to demonstrate proof when requested.
