We are seeking a skilled Scientific Software Developer to join our team in Ocean Forecasting, where you will contribute to making a positive impact on the environment and society.
The successful candidate will work with us to develop and maintain software tools that help improve ocean forecasting accuracy, supporting our mission to provide accurate weather forecasts and climate predictions.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:
- Designing, developing, and deploying software solutions to enhance ocean forecast quality and usability
- Collaborating with colleagues to identify areas for improvement and implementing solutions
- Ensuring high-quality code and adhering to best practices in software development
In return, we offer a competitive salary of £46,974 per annum, along with a range of benefits, including:
- An excellent Civil Service pension scheme
- A Recruitment Retention Allowance (RRA) of £2,200 per annum
- Annual leave starting at 27.5 days, rising to 32.5 days after 5 years
