About the Role

Cavendish Professionals is seeking a highly skilled Yard Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Ground Works department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of our plant machinery, PPE, and tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overall Site Operations: Manage and coordinate all aspects of the Yard, including logistics, transportation, and plant maintenance.
  • Logistics & Transportation Management: Develop and implement effective logistics and transportation strategies to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Plant Maintenance & Inventory: Lead plant maintenance initiatives, including preventive maintenance programs, and manage the procurement, distribution, and inventory control of consumables and PPE.
  • Fleet Management: Oversee the company vehicle fleet, ensuring its maintenance, operation, and efficiency.
  • Training & Development: Design and deliver in-house training courses to enhance the skills of our team members.
  • Technology & Optimization: Collaborate with our IT department to enhance existing plant tracking systems and analyze data to identify areas for improvement in productivity, standards, and resource allocation.
  • Growth & Development: Partner with our senior management team to develop and expand our Plant Department.
  • Team Support: Work closely with our Diamond Drilling Contracts Manager to ensure the team's access to equipment and replenish core drilling consumables as needed.
  • Professional Development: Attend senior management meetings to stay informed and contribute strategic insights.
  • Workplace Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve the comfort and functionality of the Plant Yard office space.
