Job Title: Medical Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Lead to join our team at Harrow College. As a Medical Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the medical requirements for learners with complex medical needs within the PMLD area, Foundation Learning and mainstream programmes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and review Individual Support and Care plans and Individual risk assessments for learners with medical needs, ensuring that EHCP recommendations are implemented.
  • Work alongside medical professionals and multi-disciplinary teams for the provision of physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy input and medication administration, ensuring all learners are adequately supported.
  • Line manage a team of Learning and Care Support Assistants, and provide support and training for staff in relation to the individual needs of students.
  • Have knowledge of the Children and Families Act and the SEN and Disability Code of Practice 0-25 years and associated regulations, and have experience of working with learners with Profound and Complex SEND.
  • Have extensive understanding of CQC Standards and Regulations, experience of producing individual Care Plans and Risk Assessments and a good understanding of Health and Social Care processes.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse or Qualified Nursing Associate/Healthcare Assistant qualification.
  • Training in Manual Handling, First Aid, Safe Administration of Medication, Epilepsy, Anaphylaxis, Dysphagia and Diabetes including the safe administration of emergency medication.
  • Ability to manage a team effectively.
