About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team in a small secondary school in the High Peak area. The successful candidate will work with students aged 11-16 who require support with Social, Emotional, or Mental Health needs (SEMH).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide learning support to students with SEMH needs
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher to manage classroom behavior and promote teaching and learning
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and carers
  • Contribute to the development of individualized learning plans and support the implementation of strategies to meet student needs
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the overall well-being of the school community
Requirements
  • Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
  • Relevant experience supporting students with SEMH needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
