Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer - Welding

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our Welding Team in Derby. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing practical support to welding development projects and ensuring uninterrupted production.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in an engineering or related technical discipline and previous experience in manufacturing engineering and/or process engineering. You will have strong analytical skills, a proven record of technical problem-solving skills, and knowledge of six sigma/lean techniques.

You will be a good communicator and able to liaise with all levels of staff. You will possess excellent organisational and presentation skills and feel comfortable presenting at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide practical support to welding development projects
  • Ensure uninterrupted production
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture
  • Collaborate with the team to achieve project goals

Requirements:

  • Exposure to exotic material groups and a fundamental understanding of associated tolerances/specific manufacturing challenges
  • Fundamental knowledge of DFMEA/Expert Elicitation/PFMEA to influence Product definition/final form manufacture
  • Specific Product knowledge of Core technologies
  • Responsible for understanding the relationship between Process Inputs to Process Outputs
