We're seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in the External Supply Chain, focusing on the development and improvement of manufacturing processes for nuclear products. As a leader in propulsion system design and development for the Royal Navy's nuclear submarine fleet, we're committed to excellence and innovation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the capability of manufacturing suppliers, supporting source selection and approval, and governing the execution of Manufacturing Engineering activities to ensure the development and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and methods of manufacture.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing the capability of manufacturing suppliers and supporting source selection and approval.
  • Governing the execution of Manufacturing Engineering activities to ensure the development and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and methods of manufacture.
  • Having fundamental knowledge of DFMEA / PFMEA to influence Product definition / final form manufacture.
  • Acting as the primary Manufacturing Engineering representative within a cross-functional team for their suppliers.
  • Using natural and learned negotiation/coaching skills and business acumen to build customer & supplier relationships at all levels.

Requirements:

  • Experience in fabrications, valves, complex assemblies, machining, and of critical classified components.
  • A degree, or equivalent, in an engineering or related technical discipline with previous experience in a manufacturing engineering and/or process engineering background.
