Psychologist for Paediatric Mental Health Services in Devon

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our Paediatric Psychology Service based in North Devon. This is a Band 7 role providing maternity cover for a period of one year.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for offering high-quality psychological care to children and young people experiencing significant and complex mental health difficulties and their families.
You will bring advanced formulation skills and consultation to your team alongside wider service development contributions. Regular clinical supervision and separate line management will be provided, along with opportunities to develop supervision and leadership skills.
The Paediatric Psychology Service aims to support children and young people to manage the psychological impact of living with a physical health diagnosis as part of their paediatrician-led care.
Main Objectives- To reduce levels of distress associated with the medical condition and/or treatment
- To improve quality of life and collaborative working to improve treatment adherence and active participation in health management
The service is delivered within both inpatient and outpatient hospital provision.
About UsChildren and Family Health Devon (CFHD) comprises an Alliance of NHS organisations working together to improve health outcomes for children and young people in Devon.
Clinical Psychologists working across CFHD enjoy shared CPD and professional support.
Qualifications and ExperienceWe are looking for someone with a Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent Masters level qualification in Clinical Psychology if qualified before 1996. Active registration as a Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC is also essential.
A strong understanding of relevant legislation pertaining to children and high-level knowledge of Clinical presentations in children and young people are required.
Experience of working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers, including using goal-based care and routine outcome measures in practice, is necessary.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary for this role is around £85,000 - £93,000 per annum, depending on experience.
