Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager to join our team at BAE Systems, specializing in electromagnetic compatibility. This role will involve specifying and managing requirements, advising design teams on EMC considerations, and mentoring engineers within the team.

About the Role

This is a key position in our engineering department, responsible for ensuring the compliance of our systems with electromagnetic standards. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team.

The salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also receive a range of benefits, including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave, and access to professional development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Specify and manage requirements for electromagnetic compatibility
  • Advise design teams on EMC considerations and mitigation strategies
  • Liaise with EMC test engineers to design and specify testing regimes
  • Mentor and coach engineers within the team to ensure compliance with electromagnetic standards
Requirements
  • BEng (Hons)/MEng or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering
  • Professional registration at Chartered level or evidence of working towards this
  • Experience of design for electromagnetic compatibility
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic Defence Standards would be an advantage
  • Proven experience and ability to coach others in a team
