Job Title: General Manager

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our Grounds Maintenance team at Blue Sky Services, a social enterprise owned by the Forward Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, ensuring high standards of service delivery, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate Grounds Maintenance and soft facilities management services across our client portfolio.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve service quality, customer satisfaction, and business performance.
  • Lead and motivate a team of Grounds Maintenance professionals to achieve exceptional results.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues.
  • Monitor and control budgets, resources, and operational activities to ensure efficient use of assets.
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities to drive revenue growth.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, equalities, and diversity policies.
  • Contribute to the development of staff, including training, coaching, and performance management.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in managing teams and customer relationships in the Grounds Maintenance industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of Grounds Maintenance and Horticulture practices, including plant identification and care.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, as required.
  • Relevant qualifications in Grounds Maintenance, Horticulture, or a related field.
