Head of Programme Management, Engineering Delivery – UKIFS Ltd.

This role requires employees to undergo a rigorous personnel security standard (BPSS) clearance process, which includes Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.

As a leader of a team of project professionals from diverse backgrounds, you will provide guidance, leadership, and support to ensure the team's effectiveness and professional growth, driving the delivery of the STEP programme.

You will provide strategic advice to the Senior Responsible Owner (SRO), Programme Director, and Director Engineering Programme on matters related to the delivery of the defined engineering programme of works, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

Directing the senior leadership team and delivery teams to ensure effective programme delivery, you will manage the day-to-day running and ongoing management of the engineering programme on behalf of the Programme Director and Director Engineering Programme.

You will lead prioritisation and instruct value engineering exercises on projects within the programme, ensuring funding spend is on track and the programme is delivered in line with expected quality standards and strategic objectives.

Providing clear leadership to Project Managers, you will resolve obstacles to delivery within the programme and lead the identification and employment of solutions to overcome them, ensuring the successful delivery of the engineering programme.

Salary details: £79,638 + excellent benefits, including an outstanding pension scheme.

Key Requirements:

  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a proven track record of successfully leading and developing high-performance teams.
  • Experience of managing large programmes in a technical or engineering environment (>£100M).
  • In-depth knowledge of project and programme delivery, including financial management of significant budgets.
  • Appropriate qualifications, such as MSP Foundation, Practitioner, or Advanced Practitioner.
  • Proven ability to handle ambiguity, uncertainty, and high levels of complexity in project delivery.
  • Experience in delivering engineering equipment and facilities through industry procurement.
