About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineering Project Manager to join our team at MWH Treatment.

As a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the design, construction, commissioning and handover of contracts to ensure they are completed efficiently, on time and within budget without compromising health and safety or customer satisfaction.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning: Develop and manage construction programmes to meet key milestones;
  • Collaborative Planning: Organise, chair and participate in planning sessions with stakeholders to ensure critical activities are programmed;
  • Tender Management: Prepare invitations to tender, collate responses and prepare cost-benefit analyses with recommendations for award;
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Coordinate technical activities between engineering and supply chain partners;
  • Site Management: Manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring issues are resolved or escalated;
  • Financial Management: Review consolidated invoices, identifying errors and omissions prior to payment approval;
  • Innovation and Risk Management: Challenge stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation and minimising risk; manage and coordinate the risk register, providing monthly updates;
  • Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with Health and Safety procedures, reporting near misses, unsafe conditions, accidents and incidents;
  • Data Management: Prepare pre-start packs, collate and upload data to systems;
  • Cost Management: Work with the Project Quantity Surveyor to generate cost plans, monitor project out-turn costs and report variations.

The Ideal Candidate:

You will have excellent project management skills, experience in mechanical engineering and a strong understanding of construction processes. You will also be able to work collaboratively with stakeholders and provide leadership to the site management team.

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience
