About the Role

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is delighted to be working with a highly regarded multi-disciplinary consultancy on an Associate Heritage Planner position.

This is a permanent role that reflects our client's expanding remit and influence in the heritage planning sector and the growth of the team with new people, skills, and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take the lead on a number of projects from the outset, working closely with colleagues and clients to manage schemes from initial scoping advice and early-design stages to the submission of applications for planning permission and listed building consent.
  • Provide expert advice on how to develop with heritage assets sustainably.
  • Assess the significance and setting of heritage assets.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues on a wide spectrum of projects across the UK.
Requirements
  • Degree and/or post-graduate qualification in conservation, heritage, or a related field, with demonstrable relevant experience.
  • A strong technical background relating to a wide range of historic buildings and areas, including designated and non-designated heritage assets.
  • Thorough understanding of the legislative and policy framework for the historic environment and up-to-date knowledge of relevant guidance and case law.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
