About the Role:

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a skilled Town Planner to join a dynamic Town Planning Consultancy based in Leicester. As a key member of the team, you will work on a diverse range of projects, from residential developments and commercial ventures to heritage conservation and strategic master planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and submit planning applications, appeals, and reports, ensuring compliance with UK planning legislation and processes.
  2. Liaise with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality results and build strong relationships.
  3. Conduct site appraisals and feasibility studies to inform planning decisions and strategies.
  4. Develop and implement planning policies and development strategies that balance economic, social, and environmental considerations.
  5. Provide expert advice on heritage, conservation, and environmental matters, ensuring that projects meet regulatory requirements.
  6. Represent clients at public consultations, hearings, and planning committees, effectively communicating their interests and needs.

About You:

  1. A relevant degree in Town Planning or a related field, with Chartered membership of the RTPI (or working towards chartership).
  2. Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation and processes, with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  3. Experience in managing multiple projects and clients, with a proven track record of delivering results under pressure.
  4. Self-motivated with strong organizational abilities, able to work independently and as part of a team.
