The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a skilled Development Associate to join the UAB School of Nursing Office of Development and Alumni Relations (ODAR). Under the direction of the Senior Director of Development for the School of Nursing, this position is responsible for soliciting and closing mid-level gifts in support of the UAB School of Nursing. This includes building and maintaining a portfolio of mid-to-high net worth prospects, meeting/exceeding established metrics on an annual basis, and working closely with ODAR's Director of Community Engagement and Board Relations and the Senior Director of Development to engage with members of the School of Nursing Board of Visitors and Junior Board of Visitors.

This Development Associate will work closely with the Senior Director of Development to execute fundraising strategies, raise mid-level gifts, and work with other members of ODAR, the Dean's Office, and the University Advancement Services staff to ensure that potential gift prospects are properly researched and assigned, that all solicitations are coordinated and completed, and that donors receive appropriate acknowledgments and recognition.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business or a related field and three (3) years of related experience. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work competently within CRM, intermediate knowledge of fundraising techniques, and portfolio development / management skills.
