Job Summary

Nexos is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Commissioning Specialist to join our team. This is a contract requirement based in Aberdeen with occasional site visits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Leadership: Provide HSE leadership and work with contractors and company teams to deliver fully on company expectations on HSE.
  • Site Risk Assessments: Attend site risk assessment meetings and participate in risk assessments.
  • Engineering Support: Respond to engineering site queries where clarification of design is required and liaise with engineering contractors where engineering responses to site queries are required.
  • Construction Support: Provide engineering assistance to construction teams.
  • Procedure Review and Acceptance: Review and acceptance of contractor-supplied procedures and activities for the installation of all electrical and instrumentation equipment.
  • Site Acceptance Tests: Witness and acceptance of site acceptance tests.
  • Commissioning Execution: Implement, execute, and complete all discipline work-scopes detailed within commissioning test procedures.
  • Vendor Utilization: Ensure vendors are utilized fully when mobilized.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent through experience.
  • Trade Discipline: Time-served relevant trade discipline or relevant NVQ/SVQ/HNC/HND.
  • Commissioning Experience: Demonstrable experience within commissioning, pre-commissioning.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Very good knowledge of pre-commissioning and commissioning practices and workflows. Knowledge and understanding of risk assessments (RA), hazard and operability studies (HAZOPS).
  • Communication and Teamwork: Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented personality required to interface with construction and operations teams.
