Job Title: Specialist Teacher, Health Related Education Team

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Teacher to join our Health Related Education Team (HRET) in Nottinghamshire County Council.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering effective education to children who are unable to access school due to health and medical needs. This will involve teaching individual pupils and groups in different settings, including online, and advising staff in schools and other settings on appropriate adjustments and strategies for children with health-related needs.

Closely working with parents, carers, schools, and partner agencies is a key aspect of this role. You will maintain accurate data and information related to children with health needs and produce reports, recommendations, and information for senior officers, parents, and schools as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality education to children with health-related needs
  • Advise staff on adjustments and strategies for children with health-related needs
  • Maintain accurate data and information related to children with health needs
  • Produce reports, recommendations, and information for senior officers, parents, and schools
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge in health-related education and special educational needs
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualified teacher status
  • A minimum of 3 years post-qualification teaching experience in a mainstream or special school
  • A high level of personal drive and commitment to excellent customer care
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions
  • Knowledge and understanding of the SEN Code of Practice
