Job Description

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is looking for a seasoned Head of Technology Commercial to manage procurement and contract lifecycles across digital and technology portfolios. As a critical part of the Finance Division's Commercial team, you will develop strategies to optimize value and ensure robust contract performance management.

You will lead a dynamic portfolio for Digital and Technology procurements, focusing on value creation, risk mitigation, and driving transformational change. You'll work closely with internal divisions, manage supplier relationships, and provide commercial support across categories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Strategy: Shape and deliver the Commercial Category Strategy for Digital and Technology, aligning with MHRA's Operational Transformation goals.
  • Lead Procurement and Contract Management: Oversee procurement activities, ensuring comprehensive analysis and recommendations to support senior decisions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate across the Agency, ensuring value-driven contracts and innovative commercial solutions.
  • Supplier Performance Management: Maintain supplier performance and manage commercial risk throughout the contract lifecycle.

Our ideal candidate will have proven expertise in commercial leadership within a technology environment, strong experience in contract negotiations, procurement, and management of IT goods and services within a Public Sector, Central Government or NfP environment, technical skills in procurement legislation, contract drafting, digital procurement, and stakeholder advisory, and MCIPS qualification (desirable, but not required) and/or demonstrable career within PCR2015 led Digital Procurements.

What We Offer

This role offers a competitive salary of £56,000 per annum plus additional benefits. The working model is hybrid, with a minimum of 8 days on-site per month, providing flexibility to work up to 12 days depending on business needs.
