CV Library is seeking an experienced Petroleum Laboratory Technician to join our team on a maternity cover basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an analytical professional to utilize their skills in a dynamic laboratory environment.

About the Job:

This position involves supporting the laboratory team in the analysis of samples and entry of results into our LIMS system. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting advanced analytical work within the company, as well as collaborating with external laboratories as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform analytical work on various sample matrices, focusing on petroleum products and chemicals.
  2. Prepare reports on analysis of samples and ensure timely completion.
  3. Train staff members on laboratory procedures, including health and safety protocols.
  4. Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and performing minor repairs.
  5. Participate in client site sampling, inspection, and laboratory investigation as necessary.
  6. Collect and transport samples/chemicals to other locations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Minimum 4 years' experience in a petroleum/petrochemical ISO 17025 laboratory.
  2. Background in routine testing and investigative analysis on various matrices.
  3. Knowledge of petroleum laboratory techniques, including flash points, sulphur content, cloud point, and density tests.
  4. Familiarity with additional analytical techniques, such as ICP, SEM-EDX, and UVF.

Salary and Benefits:
