Join Our Team in Histopathology

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Biomedical Scientist to join our team in the department of Cellular Pathology. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality services and contributing to the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of diseases.

The successful candidate will have experience in performing scientific procedures involving the processing of biomedical specimens, interpreting complex diagnostic tests, and working within professional standards expected as a registrant of the Health Professions Council (HCPC). They will also be expected to maintain a portfolio of evidence supporting Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

This fixed-term/secondment position is available for 12 months due to funding. If you are interested in applying, please ensure you obtain permission from your current line manager prior to submitting your application. The estimated salary for this role is £37,898 - £45,637 per annum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality services within the Histopathology services section of the laboratory.
  • Perform scientific procedures involving the processing of biomedical specimens.
  • Interpret complex diagnostic tests and contribute to the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of diseases.

Requirements:

  • IBMS approved degree in Biomedical Sciences or other Science degree + IBMS approved top-up qualification.
  • Registration with HCPC as a Biomedical Scientist.
  • Specialist Diploma or equivalent in Cellular Pathology.
