Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at ADM's Lincoln facility. As a key member of our Maintenance Department, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and equipment to ensure optimal production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain machinery and equipment to ensure proper functioning and efficiency
  • Operate hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools to perform maintenance tasks
  • Troubleshoot mechanical failures and pneumatic systems to identify and resolve issues
  • Repair, rebuild, and maintain mechanical drive systems to ensure smooth operation
  • Install material systems and fabricate parts as needed
  • Monitor and report safety issues to ensure a safe working environment
  • Follow all GMP and HACCP policies to maintain a high level of quality and safety
  • Effectively communicate with coworkers and supervisors to ensure seamless collaboration
  • Participate in safety programs to achieve a zero injury culture

Requirements

  • Commitment to ADM's goal of achieving a zero injury culture and understanding of company safety procedures
  • Regular and prompt attendance
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment or a strong mechanical background with a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on maintenance and/or millwright experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical school training as a mechanic or equivalent highly desired
  • Ability to learn through on-the-job training and/or outside training
  • Willingness to take formal trade school courses as selected by ADM management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to perform tasks in a safe manner
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow verbal and written instructions and SOPs
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and available for unscheduled call-in needs or overtime as needed
  • Ability to work independently while flexible enough to work in a team setting
  • Professional image and positive attitude

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift and transport materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 55 pounds overhead
  • Able to traverse up to two (2) miles during the course of a work day and to move about or to a work site by stooping, bending, kneeling or squatting frequently during the course of a work day
  • May require periods of prolonged sitting or standing
  • Able to operate equipment or diagnose/detect issues of machinery that may be located at different heights, at times requiring work on ladders, scaffolding or other work at heights or in confined spaces
  • Requires a full range of physical motion in order to operate manual and electrically powered tools and electrical test equipment, to move throughout the facility, including climbing stairs in all buildings, and use of man lifts
  • The scope of the position may require exposure to and use of chemicals, solvents, and cleaners common to mechanical work that may be hazardous and/or cause injury if specific instructions regarding their mixture, use, and disposal/storage are not properly followed
  • Have the ability to climb stairs, lift, bend, kneel, stand for long periods, work in confined spaces, work with heights, work in cold/hot temperatures and a dusty environment and be respirator qualified
