About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Highway Design Engineer to join our team in Chelmsford or Cambridge. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality highway engineering projects and providing technical leadership to junior engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement highway design solutions in accordance with Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and other relevant standards.
  • Lead and manage teams of engineers and technicians to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical input to project managers and clients on project planning, programming, and pricing.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and procedures, including departures from standard.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to deliver schemes and projects that meet their needs.
  • Mentor and upskill junior staff to develop their skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.
  • Significant experience in highway design and project management, with a strong understanding of commercial aspects.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and procedures, including departures from standard.
  • NEC and/or Project Management experience is advantageous.
