Senior Market Risk Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Market Risk Specialist to join our Risk Team at Eleven. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for analyzing trading positions, P&L, and VaR on an aggregate portfolio basis, ensuring adherence to S&T Control Policy, and collaborating with IT and Risk Control Global teams on system and ad-hoc projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily analysis of trading positions, P&L, and VaR on an aggregate portfolio basis down to the trading portfolio level.
  • Ensure adherence to S&T Control Policy and escalate to appropriate levels when necessary.
  • Collaborate with front office to create, adjust, and validate price curves to ensure accuracy to market exposure.
  • Work with IT and Risk Control Global teams on system and ad-hoc projects to drive adoption of digital tools, global alignment, and timely implementations.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis of commodity price volatilities, correlations, absolute prices, VaR, or other duties as assigned.
  • Act as steward for trading system data.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years' Risk Control/Market Risk experience gained within an Oil & Gas or Bank trading environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to explain complex subjects to all levels from Traders through to Senior Managers.
  • Ability to prioritize and work to deadlines.
  • Understanding of the underlying fundamentals of commodity and product flow.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets to enable insightful analysis that explains drivers in exposure, P&L, and VaR to Supply & Trading organization.
  • Highly proficient with Excel and trading database applications.
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate with team members, Supply & Trading personnel, and Senior Management from all functions.
  • Provide clear, logical recommendations in a concise manner to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to synthesize complex topics and present appropriate level of detail for the audience.
  • Strong interest in acting as and developing into a market risk subject matter expert.
