Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Academic Director to join our team at Twin English Centre Eastbourne. As a key member of our academic leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality academic programs and services that meet the needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the academic services section, including academic administration, student welfare, and UKVI compliance.
  • Develop and implement academic policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the development and delivery of academic programs, including curriculum design, teaching and learning resources, and assessment.
  • Manage the recruitment, induction, and development of academic staff, including teachers and support staff.
  • Ensure the effective management of student services, including student administration, student welfare, and student safety.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including operations, admissions, marketing, and IT, to ensure seamless delivery of academic services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including universities, colleges, and other educational institutions.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of academic programs and services, making recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including UKVI and Accreditation UK.
Requirements
  • At least three years' full-time teaching experience, including experience with young learners.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working as part of a team.
  • IT literate.
  • Desirable: previous managerial experience, administrative experience, safeguarding training, customer service experience, and ability to speak a second language.
Education Requirements
  • Educated to degree level.
  • Diploma level qualification (DELTA/Trinity TESOL Diploma and/or MA with a substantial element of observed teaching practice).
  • HSE-recognised First Aid certificate (such as St John's First Aid at Work) desirable.
