**About the Role**

A high-level administrative assistant is sought by Devon & Cornwall Police to provide critical support to a senior executive at their Middlemoor HQ.

This temporary position, initially until June 2025, requires working Monday to Friday, office hours. The role is fully office-based, and the hourly rate is £15.09.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide high-level professional and personal support to the dedicated member of the operational and non-operational Force Executive.
  2. Manage the daily activity and delivery of the Executive's portfolio responsibilities, prioritizing workload and risk effectively.
  3. Act as an internal and external gateway into the Executive, assessing and adding value to strategy and business plans from the NPCC, OPCC, and partners.
  4. Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver the Force, regional, and national responsibilities of the principal and contribute to the work of their portfolio.
  5. Work in an agile manner with minimal supervision within a team environment, managing the daily activity and delivery of the Executive's portfolio responsibilities and commitments.
  6. Provide critical incident cover when necessary to meet the dynamic requirements of the Executive.
  7. Maintain the reputation of the Force and the Executive, safeguarding the identity and management of corporate risks by the Executive and business.
  8. Manage bespoke Force level portfolios and coordinate project activity.
  9. Prioritize and filter information from various sources, deciding how it will be actioned and progressed.
  10. Plan, organize, and manage Force, regional, and national level meetings, conferences, and National Police Chiefs' Council portfolio led meetings, internally and remotely, to deliver the respective agendas.

The ideal candidate should have excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize a high-volume workload and work effectively without close supervision in a team environment.

They must also be able to adapt to rapidly changing situations, such as prioritizing and rearranging scheduled work to attend strategically important and sensitive meetings.

The successful candidate will possess experience working in a similar environment, assisting at senior management level, with strong communication and customer care skills.

The estimated salary for this role is £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, based on the location and industry standards.
