Job Description

**Job Title:** Senior Maintenance Engineer

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Sierra 57 Consult Ltd. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the maintenance team to ensure the smooth operation of our injection moulding machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the maintenance team to ensure all machinery is checked, maintained, and serviced to ensure continuous and safe running.
  • Develop and implement planned maintenance schedules to reduce incidents and breakdowns.
  • Organize maintenance and servicing jobs for the maintenance department staff.
  • Undertake planned maintenance on designated equipment to maintain and improve production efficiency.
  • Identify the root cause of breakdowns and faults on machinery.
  • Perform safety checks and routine maintenance.
  • Repair and replace defective parts as required.
  • Implement continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensure all staff are observing safety procedures and housekeeping processes.
  • Ensure the planning and resourcing of staff, materials, and technical support for day-to-day activities to meet manufacturing demand.
  • Ensure KPIs are being met.
  • Regular reporting of status on all engineering activities.
  • Analyse regular failures and provide long-term solutions.
  • Provide support and expertise to projects requiring engineering input.
  • Carry out day-to-day hands-on activities to reduce plant downtime.

Requirements:

  • Apprentice-trained with a relevant qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
  • Previous working knowledge of injection moulding machines and automation.
  • Good working knowledge of PLCs, robotics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronic/electrical automation controls.
  • People management experience is essential.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing techniques such as OEE, 5S, Kaizen.
  • Good awareness of health and safety in the workplace.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, demonstrate passion, and be a team player with a flexible and 'can-do' attitude and the ability to work under pressure within tight deadlines.
