Job Title: Telephone Health Consultant

Job Overview:

The Lincolnshire Community Health Service NHS Trust is recruiting a skilled Telephone Health Consultant to join its Clinical Assessment Service. This service delivers virtual assessments of patients via telephone and video consultations, contributing to the integrated urgent care system in Lincolnshire.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and experienced clinical professional to make a significant impact in patient care. As a Telephone Health Consultant, you will be responsible for conducting thorough telephone assessments of patients' health and clinical needs, utilizing your professional clinical judgment to provide accurate advice and health information.

You will collaborate closely with other services, such as urgent treatment centers, to ensure seamless patient care and support individuals accessing the appropriate level of care. Your key duties will include:

  1. Conducting skilled and effective telephone assessments of patients presenting clinical need, using professional clinical judgment and evidence-based practice.
  2. Utilizing advanced communication skills, including active listening, probing, and facilitation, to engage patients and facilitate clear understanding.
  3. Providing accurate advice and health information to patients via the telephone to empower them to act upon the advice given.
  4. Facilitating clear patient pathways through primary, community, urgent, and secondary care.
  5. Collaborating with colleagues to provide leadership and motivation, ensuring high standards of performance and quality care.

  • Breathlessness
  • Pain
  • Skin rashes
  • Toxic ingestions
  • Gastrointestinal presentations such as diarrhoea and vomiting
  • Altered behaviour
  • Fever
  • Ear, nose and throat presentations such as tonsillitis
Requirements:

Essential:

  • Registration as a healthcare professional (first-level nurse/paramedic).
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Significant experience in clinical practice across various settings.
  • Experience working in primary or urgent care environments.

Desirable:

  • Leadership and mentoring experience.
  • Background in urgent or emergency care.
  • Experience working remotely or using System One.
  • Working knowledge of clinical governance principles.
Compensation and Benefits:

This position offers a competitive salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience. You will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including a pension scheme, life assurance, and generous annual leave allowance.
