Commercial Assistant

About the Role

Lusona Consultancy is delighted to be retained by Ipsum Solutions to source suitable applicants for the role of 'Commercial Assistant' based at their Hillington office. Ipsum is the UK's Customer Service leader in specialist utility and infrastructure services, providing specialist power, water, infrastructure, and technology support services to regulated utilities and private sector businesses across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining performance reports and business partnering with operational colleagues to drive commercial growth and efficiency.
  • Supporting the business unit in generating tenders for all opportunities, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Building strong knowledge of customer contracts and maintaining the commercial contract log to ensure seamless operations.
  • Providing expert advice on commercial issues to general and framework managers, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Reporting on work in progress, billing, and payment collection to ensure timely and accurate financial management.
  • Utilizing methods to support pricing and tendering activities, ensuring optimal commercial outcomes.
  • Preparing subcontract tender requirements for management reviews, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Using the Management Information System (MIS) to track work progress and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Maintaining visibility of expenditure to ensure works are completed within budget.
  • Collaborating with the Senior Management Team and attending management reviews as required, ensuring effective communication and decision-making.
  • Continuously improving the reporting available to management, ensuring data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business, mathematics, or quantity surveying, or equivalent experience in a commercial or financial role. A valid UK driving licence is also essential for this position.
