Job Title: Clinical Lead - Mental Health Employment Support

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Lead to join our Mental Health Employment Support Service at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Lead, you will play a key role in providing clinical leadership and supervision to a small team of Employment Specialists, ensuring the delivery of high-quality employment support services to individuals with severe mental health issues.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mental health, with experience of working with individuals with severe and enduring mental health issues. You will have a deep understanding of the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model and be able to provide expert clinical leadership and supervision to the team. You will also be responsible for coordinating with other Band 6 Employment Specialists and the Employment Support Service Manager to ensure consistent clinical leadership and management across the service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision to a small team of Employment Specialists
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality employment support services to individuals with severe mental health issues
  • Coordinate with other Band 6 Employment Specialists and the Employment Support Service Manager to ensure consistent clinical leadership and management across the service
  • Provide expert clinical advice and guidance to the team on vocational rehabilitation and the IPS model
  • Take an active part in the supervision, training, and assessment of students on clinical practice
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a degree or equivalent in social work, occupational therapy, psychiatric nursing, or psychology. You will also need to have experience of working with individuals with severe and enduring mental health issues, as well as experience of providing clinical leadership and supervision. You will need to be able to work effectively with service users, employers, and other stakeholders to identify employment opportunities and provide support to individuals with mental health issues.
