Administrative Officer for Pre-Clinical Courses

We are seeking a proactive and adaptable individual to provide administrative support for our Undergraduate Teaching Group.

The successful candidate will be responsible for liaising with students, General Practitioner Tutors, college and pre-clinical school staff, as well as booking rooms and catering, preparing course materials and updating information on our Virtual Learning Environment. They will also provide administrative support for the annual "Career Pathways to Academic Primary Care" conference, which involves booking and liaising with event venues, arranging catering and equipment requirements, booking speakers, and liaising with attendees.

The post holder will work closely with other members of the group to provide high-quality administrative support and respond to enquiries verbally and in writing. They will be educated to A level or equivalent and preferably have experience working in a university or similar organisation in an administration-related role. They will possess good IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook.

This is a part-time and permanent position, and we would prefer the post holder to work Tuesdays and Thursdays. However, we can be flexible with what other day you would like to work. The department is committed to the continuing professional development of its administrative staff and in-house and on-the-job training will be provided as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Education to A level or equivalent
  • Experience working in a university or similar organisation in an administration-related role
  • Good IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook
