About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Manager to join our Corporate Finance team at Checkatrade. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of our annual financial statements and audit, as well as other specialist areas of financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and prepare draft financial statements for all entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead key internal and external audit meetings, ensuring the company maintains high levels of compliance and adheres to SOX controls.
  • Prepare key accounting papers, liaise with commercial teams, and demonstrate technical understanding to guide the accounting treatment of new initiatives.
  • Critically assess the monthly software resource capitalisation calculation and support the review of captured information.
  • Assist with the review of new lease contracts and support the Financial Accountant with their application.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and project work, offering direct support or cover for the Head of Corporate Finance.

Requirements
  • Previous experience in a financial reporting role at a high-growth business.
  • A growth mindset, with a willingness and expectation to develop and grow into a future finance leader.
  • An awareness of SOX controls.
  • Highly data literate, comfortable augmenting and interpreting large unstructured data sets.
  • Excellent operating across all levels of stakeholders and with strong people skills and a flair for building and maintaining trust and relationships.
  • Adept at using systems to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Experience in capitalisation of software development would be a bonus.
