**Job Opportunity: Quarry Site Operations Lead**

We are seeking an experienced Quarry Site Operations Lead to join and lead our operations team at a dynamic quarry site. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to take on a leadership role in a busy quarry environment.

**Role Overview**

The Quarry Site Operations Lead will oversee the safe and efficient running of the quarry, ensuring high standards of safety, productivity, and operational excellence. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this role requires a strong understanding of risk assessments and safe systems of work processes.


**Key Responsibilities**
  • Manage and develop a skilled team to ensure business continuity and reduce risks.
  • Lead change and continuous improvement initiatives, maintain disciplined stock management, and produce operational reports.
  • Oversee budgetary control for all quarrying operations.
  • Implement and manage an effective maintenance scheme for quarry plant and equipment.
  • Maintain and enforce Standard Operating Procedures and risk assessments.
  • Supervise the safe operation and planned preventative maintenance of site equipment (fixed and mobile).
  • Investigate and report unsafe or hazardous practices.
  • Deliver safety briefings and toolbox talks to the team.
  • Proactively manage both mandatory and developmental training for staff.
  • Track and report monthly performance KPIs to drive operational performance.
**Candidate Requirements**

The ideal candidate will bring significant expertise in quarrying operations, alongside a deep understanding of the Quarry Regulations 1999 (Regulation 8.1d appointment). They will have a thorough understanding of Risk Assessments and Safe System of Work processes, as well as knowledge of production processes and Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • SHE NVQ Level 4 or QCF Level 6 qualification.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (SAP knowledge advantageous).
  • Proven ability to multitask and manage change effectively.
  • Understanding of raw material extraction methods, including loading, transportation, and handling techniques.
  • Familiarity with crushing, screening, washing, and other beneficiation processes.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • IOSH/NEBOSH certification.
  • Diploma in Quarry Technology or FdSc Extractives Technology.
